Steve Goertzen on waviers..

According to Aaron Portzline Steve Goertzen has been put on waivers. If he is not claimed he will be sent to the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League.

Goertzen is 6'2" 216 lb wing who was selected in 7th round of the 2002 draft. He has 46 games of NHL experience all as a 4th line role player in the Gerard Gallant head coach era.

Goertzen looked decent in camp but I'm not surpirsed to see him ultimately sent down especially with the emmergence of guys like Jared Boll and Tommy Sestito who are younger, just as touch have add more offensively. Perhaps he will get claimed but Chances are he will remain a mamber of the Blue Jackets organization.

Edit: Goertzen passed through waivers and was reassigned to Syracuse.
