..some interesting tid bits from around the league today:
Jeremy Roenick has signed a 1 year deal worth 500k with the San Jose Sharks:
Jeremy Roenick is not retiring after all. NHL sources tell TSN that the veteran centre has signed a one-year contract with the San Jose Sharks for $500,000. Roenick played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and Coyotes over the last 18 seasons. He was taken eighth overall by the Blackhawks in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft and helped lead them to the Stanley Cup Final in 1992."

Sharks GM Doug Wilson had this to say about the signing:
“Jeremy Roenick is a tremendous competitor and he has a great love for the game of hockey,” said Wilson. “We feel he can add something to our talented group of players on our club and we feel that this is an environment where Jeremy can be successful.”

I'd love to see JR reach that 500 goal mark. He currently sits at 495 for his career. He would become the 3rd American to reach that mark after Joe Mullen and Mike Modano. I think he'll have a real good shot with a high scoring San Jose club -- even with the limited 4th line minutes he'll most likely pull.
Montreal Canadians have released their new jerseys:
Neither jersey had much change outside of the NHL logo in the v-neck. I'm glad to see all the original 6 teams staying classic. The only original 6 team to make a substantial change has been the Boston Bruins and they top my list as the best new jersey's released thus far - with Columbus being a close second - non biased of course ;)
Calgary has also released their new unis today:
