Whelp...so much for seeing Peca's debut in a CBJ uni tonight - from Portzline's blog:
Center Michael Peca, the Blue Jackets' top free-agent signing, will miss tonight's exhibition game due to "general soreness," according to the team.
Coach Ken Hitchcock said the ailment has nothing to do with the broken leg that caused Peca to miss the final four months of last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Peca, 33, had been expected to play tonight against the Chicago Blackhawks and center a line with Rick Nash. Nikolai Zherdev will replace Peca in the lineup
"He just has some general soreness and we decided to give him the day off," Hitchcock said.
