Stat of the day

Anton Stralman will be wearing the #5 this season.

*insert Backman jokes here*

Here are some Stralman stats from last season:

NHL games played: 38
Goals: 1
Assists: 12
Points: 13
+/-: -2
PIM: 20

Powerplay Points: 0
Shots: 43

Total time on ice: 591:35
Time on ice per avg game: 15:34
Short handed ice per avg game: 0:41
Powerplay ice per avg game: 2:38
Shifts per game: 21.2

Hits: 37
Blocks: 37
Missed shots: 25
Give aways: 16
Take aways: 11

Just to give you an idea how far down the depth chart Stralman was in Toronto the 5 defensemen in front of him (Kaberle, Finger, Schenn, White & Kubina) all played 1337 minutes or more. Stralman only played 591 minutes.

For the most part these stats can all be tossed out the window because I see him playing a much bigger role here. I think he'll see a lot more PP time but will be used sparingly on the PK. That should translate into many more shots and puts something other than a '0' next to that points on the powerplay category.

The best thing about these stats are they show he's had some good NHL experience under his belt so he should be able to "hit the ice skating" when he gets here.
