The Jackets training camp roster has just been released. You can view it here.
No real surprises on the roster as we already knew Mativichuk and Willis would be invited to camp on a pro tryout basis.
As far as the schedule -- the players go through physicals on the 19th and then hit the ice for the first time next Saturday the 20th at the Dispatch Ice Haus. The full schedule can be found here.
Here is what the schedule looks like on Saturday:
9 a.m.-12 p.m. Group A on and off ice sessions (DIH)
11 a.m.-2 p.m. Group B on and off ice sessions (DIH)
I'm not exactly sure how that will work -- my guess is that the players will hit the ice around 9 a.m. for an 1 hour 1/2 and then do the off ice workouts for the rest. Then group B will come out at 11 a.m. and do the same.
I believe last year the players were split into 3 groups and each done one of the groups would not see the ice. The clear benefit of this year's split is that the fans will be able to see all the players on the ice (assuming they are healthy) each day.
So mark your calendars folks! Next Saturday should be a lot of fun and our first look at all the new faces.
Here's a quote from OKT on camp this season:
“It’s going to be a very competitive training camp. That’s a good thing. It hasn’t been like that here in the past. There are some good players competing for only a few jobs, and some people are going to be very disappointed. But, for the team, that’s probably a good thing.”—Defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen, looking ahead to training camp.
Also a trusted poster is reporting that Filatov is out of the Traverse City Tournament. Looks to be a minor injury but man what a bummer as I know many of us were really looking forward to seeing what this kid could do.

RE: Just an impulsive idea
How about setting up a somewhat informal “get-to-gather ” for regular LTR readers at about 2:00 PM after the Saturday training camp session (Sept 20) at a place within walking distance (e.g., a back room at Buca’s) for a late lunch or drink—everyone is on their own dime, of course—to talk big talk about the Jackets. Possible we get a few front Dispatch reporters and front office types (e.g., Tyler Write) to attend and offer a few thoughts. No big deal; just a thought.
JJK –Sect 209
Count me in
I was going to try and go to the Saturday session anyhow. I'd be interested.
I like that idea JJK. I'm thinkin perhaps the new Boston Pizza across the street?
I'll throw a post up about it next week and if some of you are really interested, I'm definitely game.

I went to Boston Pizza the other day and had a great meal. I'm absolutely up for this. Might even drag a few friends along. :)
