Jackets TV

Wanted to point out a couple of things today.

Jackets TV has some new vids up. Both Voracek and Filatov are interviewed by Danny Gare. They also have the interviews with Hitch and Howson up that are airing on FSN Ohio as part of the Jackets season preview special. They also have a cool hockey school segment with Brassard and Sestito. Check em out here.

CBSSports.com has a central division preview up. Here is some of what they had to say about the Jackets:

Howson started the makeover at the draft when he used the sixth overall pick on talented young Russian Nikita Filatov, a player many teams were thought to be shying away from because there is no transfer agreement between his national federation and the NHL. Columbus signed him, and continued the roster overhaul with a series of free-agent signings and trades that landed forwards Kristian Huselius, R.J. Umberger and Raffi Torres and defensemen Mike Commodore, Fedor Tyutin and Christian Backman.

The upshot is that coach Ken Hitchcock will begin his second training camp in Columbus with a team that has more scoring punch up front, a deeper blue line and added toughness to boot.

The boys will take on the Wild today at Traverse City at 3 p.m. I'll try to track down a score but if anyone one finds it before I do feel free to post in the comments.

Our young Blue Jackets won their first game, 4-3 in a shootout, coming back from a 2-0 deficit. Voracek scored the winning shootout goaland according to Dan Rosen of NHL.com looked ready for the NHL. Thanks for the heads up Scott! Reading some of those comments it sure does sound like Voracek had a hell of a game. I also heard that Clitsome and Holden were impressive as well.
