Ten things that just can't happen this year

Sick of top 10 lists yet? Well I've got another one for ya!

Here are 10 things that I believe can't happen if the Jackets hope to make the playoffs for the first time in their 8 year on ice history:

1. Rick Nash misses 10 or more games

2. Jackets go under .500 on the road

3. The Jackets PP is not in the top 15 in the league

4. The Jackets don't beat the Predators at least 3 times

5. Brassard and/or Voracek fail to contribute a combined 65 points

6. Leclaire starts less than 60 games

7. Freddy Modin scores less than 20 goals

8. Defense combines to score less than 30 goals

9. Jackets don't finish top 10 in goals against

10. Win less than half of their OT/Shootout attempts

Fire away - agree/disagree..? What are some others?

Claude Noel thinks 2-0 lead in the first period is enough to win the game.

He's right. If the team plays properly with that lead it would be enough.

I disagree with the pp and the top 10 in goals for. There were 7 teams last year: Colorado, Nashville, NJ, NYR, Anaheim, Calgary and Boston who were all outside of the top 15 in pp and they still made the playoffs.

Anaheim, NJ, Boston, NYR, SJ, Minny and Calgary were in the bottom third of goal scoring and they also made the playoffs.

As for the rest of the list it is just too circumstantial. If all of those things happen/don't happen we will be in for a dismal year, but a couple of them happening shouldn't be do or die.

I think our team is such that we don't have to have a perfect year in order to make it this time around. Last year, because we were so thin, I think it was more critical for everyone to max out and do everything they could. Thing is, they darn near did max out (but for a few players) but the deadline came and we all know what happened after that :(
