Woo Hoo! Filatov!
I didn't believe he'd be there when we picked. I was kinda expecting that we'd land Schenn because I figured Filatov would go to the Island and Schenn would fall to us. Columbus could really have used Schenn who will be a defensive stud for years to come but I have to say I'm really excited about Filatov.
Some scouts said that if he's name was "John Smith" he would have battled Stamkos for #1 overall because he's talent level is on par with him. The fact that he's Russian may have scared some teams off but everything I read about this kid says he's a leader, team player and skilled beyond belief!
Way to go Howson! I'm glad he had the balls to take a chance on him and can't wait to see him in a Jacket's jersey.
