Nash gets the star

Congrats to Nash for being named the NHL's first start of the week!

Nash led all NHL scorers for the week with nine points (two goals, seven assists), helping the Blue Jackets (18-17-4) post three wins in four road games. He recorded one goal and one assist in a 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings Dec. 29, notched one assist in a 2-0 win over the Anaheim Ducks Dec. 31 and posted a season-high four points (one goal, three assists) and a +4 rating in a 6-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche Jan. 2. Nash finished the week by notching a pair of assists in a 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues Jan. 3. The Blue Jackets captain leads the club in scoring with 39 points (17 goals, 22 assists) in 39 games.

Full story can be found here.

Also a couple of good reads on Steve Mason.

First one from NHL.com which can be found here.

Then another from Hockey's Future which can be found here.

In case you missed it our good buddy Adam Foote is out indefinitely for a bicep injury.

I certainly hope this doesn't cause him to miss his date with Nationwide Arena on January 13th.

Don't look now but Rick Nash is in the top 20 in scoring in the NHL with 17g, 22a for 39 point in 39 names. He has certainly been making his teammates better around him lately!!

Nasher was interviewed on VS during the 1st intermission (NYR v Pens)tonight. He pretty much said what we've been hearing out of him for the past couple of weeks. Nothing new. Sometimes I think he sounds entirely too politically correct.

Kudos on the 1st Star!!!

Wearing the "C", you have to be more diplomatic. He is a suburban Ontario boy, and is basically soft spoken. I don't care what he says to the media -- it's what he says and does in the locker room and on the ice.
