Stat of the day

Got my latest addition of The Hockey News today and they had a couple of Blue Jackets stats I wanted to share here.

* They have the Jackets ranked as the 26th franchise based off 8 criteria including Front Office Continuity, Attendance, Regular Season, Future Watch, Playoff Performance, Entry Draft Successs, 2008-2009 & Franchise Value.

The New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, Atlanta Thrashers and Phoenix Coyotes round out the rest.

* The Kings, Sharks and Red Wings are the only teams giving up fewer shots per game that the Jackest (27.5).

Also the NHL has a transcript of an interview with Rick Nash here and here is another article that summarizes that chat with the title Rick Nash truly believes this could be the year for the Blue Jackets.

With Leclaire on IR, I was wondering: What was Pazzys longest starting stretch of games last season? I've got to think they'll go with Mase as the starter at least until he gets back. I mean, they wouldn't start Lacosta, would they?

Part of my question answered (Dispatch):

"Hitchcock said Mason will start both games this weekend. Mason has started eight straight games and 12 of the past 13."

Also wanted to pass this stat along. It gives me some comfort going into this weekends games:

Hejda/Commodore are a combined +24 at this point of the season.
