Wow, that's pretty amazing! Nasher is in some good company there. Just imagine what he could do with a _real_ first line center, eh?
HEATLEY TO COLUMBUS?????? Strong rumor floating around!
dude, remember it's Eklund we are talking about.. it's entertaining though....
HOT HOT HOT RUMOR: HEATLEY TO COLUMBUS (e4) (E4)
"I had this a few hours ago "off the record" but now I am hearing from various sources that a deal may be in place that would send Heatley to Columbus. Apparently, Rick Nash (who has some strong international history playing with Heatley) is pushing for this. Possible players that could be heading to Ottawa include Filotov, Brassard, and Huselius. I am also hearing the Oilers are in on Heatley as well."
- Eklund
Im the local Hawks fan on this board, just passing the info along since recently exchanged messages with John.
Eklund is entertaining but when he puts a pretty high rating on it.....who knows. Good luck to you guys this year. Losing those three for heatley...bah!
Brassard is a gem, dont do it i say.
Brass is not going anywhere. The CBJ have been weak up the middle and Brass is assumed to be the answer. SH will not move him. Now we are heavy on the wings and I could see Huselius and maybe, just maybe but not likey Filatov being moved. I would say Mayorov with the Juice would be more likey but I dont think it would be enough.
I have to say the Heatley to Columbus rumor is gaining some steam.. senschirp and sensbuzz are reporting it as well... I wouldn't call those guys 100% legit.. but more so then Eklund..
And it makes sense... Murray wants to trade him to the West...
Oilers --- He declined...
LA --- signed Smyth
Wild --- signed Havlat
Rangers --- singed Gaborik (eastern team I know, but a Heatley preferred destination)
The remaining teams in the hunt are CBJ, the Stars and the AVS from what I can tell..
Stars have to send back too much salary....
Avs don't have the pieces that interest Murray....
Blue Jackets have Russell.. which Murray has a huge man crush on...
I don't know... I have a hard time seeing Howsen take on another 7.5M cap hit.. but let's face it the Sens have their backs to the wall and they want to salvage something for Heatley.. Howsen could lowball him and he might take it a few months from now because he ran out of options... . this is of course assuming that Heatley wants to be a Blue Jacket and play with Nasher..
who knows..... I am rating this plausible.. (think of Nash - Brassard - Heatley)
eplagge,
that line would be the best offensive line that we have seen wearing the CBJ colors. All i can imagine is the tourneys past with Nash and Heatley on the same line.
Also if you heard Hitch yesterday he had nothing but good things to say about Heatley and stated he has never had a problem with him.
Sorry for the lack of posts recently gang. Got an issue that needs my immediate attention.
eplagge,
Please email me at light.the.lamp@hotmail.com if you could.
Want to bounce something off of you.
Thanks,

Interesting news coming out about Toronto's involvement w/ former free agents Daniel and Henrik Sedin. Would be interesting if an investigation found anything about Burke and Wilson inapporpriately trying to lure Nasher....

It is fun to dream. That would be a great addition.
I can only image how fun it would be if our Top 6 were:
Nash-Brassard-Heatley
Filatov-Vermette-Voracek
Could Umberger, Torres and Mayorov get the deal done. Ottawa has traded with us in the past, which is a good sign.
They were going to accept Cogliano, Penner and Smid from Edmonton. I would say that is equivalent to Umberger, Torres and Novotny.
Burke just said "we did a poor job of Tampering. The Sedins are in Vancouver."
