That's what I'm talkin about Gilbert!
In only his second game as member of the AHL's Syracuse Crunch, the Jackets 2005 #1 pick (6th overall) Gilbert Brule scored a hat trick!
This is exactly why the Jackets sent him down and I'm sure exactly what Howson, Hitch and co. would hope happen once Brule got some quality minutes.
The plan is for Brule to play all kinds of minutes in all kinds of situations down in Syracuse to rebuild his confidence and rekindle that offensive ability we all know he's capable of but just hasn't found yet at the NHL level.
This really is great news but just a first step towards a reset so to speak for him.
Also of note was that Derrick Brassard continued to rack up points and grabbed two assits and was a +2. 2004 2nd round pick Adam Pineault continued his recent hot streak and potted two more goals tonight as well. Zenon Konopka and Tommy Sestito each also had 2 assits while Aaron Rome had the other goal.
The Crunch are now 19-19-1-1 which is good for 3rd in the Western Conference North division.
Brule and the boys will play again tomorrow night against Grand Rapids.
