Week 23 Power Rankings - treading water

TSN.ca - down 4 to 25
It was getting to the point that the Blue Jackets would have to consider declining power plays -- Sunday's power play marker against Tampa Bay made Columbus 1-for-35 in the last ten games.

CBC.ca - up 2 to 22
It was a good season.

CBSSports.com - down 2 to 24
Lots of sniping going back and forth between the Blue Jackets and Adam Foote in the aftermath of his trade, which is probably good for Columbus since it helped mask the current 1-5-2 slide at home.

CNNSI.com - down 1 to 20
With two assists on Sunday, Rick Nash set a career high of 58 points while helping the Jackets end a seven-game home slide. But if they miss the playoffs by a point or two, they'll look back to the one-goal games they dropped late in the schedule. Of their last 10 defeats (regulation or OT/SO), six were by one goal -- six crucial points they failed to grab.

Yahoo.com - stays put at 22
The Blue Jackets are 2-2-2 since the deadline, when they were sellers instead of buyers. Columbus waived good-bye to captain Adam Foote and high-priced aging center Sergei Fedorov. The disappointment was their inability to get Brad Richards from Tampa Bay. The Jackets will be in a recruiting mode in the summer.

ESPN.com - up 1 to 23
The Blue Jackets have picked up points in four of their past five games, but it's an exercise in futility.

FoxSports.com - stays put at 21
(.521) In the two games the Blue Jackets lost last week, the opposition held Rick Nash scoreless. But the team's leading goal-scorer wasn't held down the entire week as Nash recorded two assists in the Jackets' 5-3 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday.

THN.com - up 1 to 22
A win over Tampa Bay was preceded by three straight one-goal losses for the highly competitive Blue Jackets. With 14 goals, Jason Chimera has a shot at breaking his single-season high of 17.

Average score: 22.375 (last week 21.5)

My has TSN.ca changed its view on the Jackets. What once used to be a lock to rank us the highest now has us the lowest at 25 -- you can't quit us TSN!!

Meanwhile CNNSI.com has us ranked this highest this week at 20.
