Vyborny on IR; MacKenzie recalled

This just came across the wire:

The Blue Jackets placed right wing David Vyborny on injured reserve with a hip injury Sunday and recalled center Derek MacKenzie from their American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse.

Vyborny was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 1 when he injured his hip against the Calgary Flames, Blue Jackets General Manager Scott Howson said.

MacKenzie had 10 goals and five assists in 27 games this season for the Syracuse Crunch.

Story found here.

MacKenzie's stats found here.

Looks like Vybes will be out for an extended period.

The Jackets are definitely milking Syracuse for all they've got right now. I figured with McKenzie up someone would get sent down but that doesn't look like its happening, at least for now. Someone will have to be a healthy scratch from the forward group though tomorrow against Anaheim - probably Lindstrom.

Guess we'll have to sit back and see how this roster move ripples.

MacKenzie was a beast in the Crunch's recent win over the Monsters I saw. Good to see him get another shot with Columbus.
