Jackets recall Lindstrom

Just saw that the Jackets have recalled Joakim Lindstrom. He was scratched for an unknown reason in yesterday's Crunch game and now I guess we know why.

I love this move by the Jackets. Lindstrom has been, well -- lighting the lamp regularly down on the farm even winning AHL player of the week two weeks ago. The Jackest power play has struggled quite a bit recently and could use a jumpstart of sorts.

Is Joakim that guy? Not sure, but it certainly can't hurt. In 22 games he scored 11g, 13a for 24 points which ranks him 10th in the league in scoring. He's earned this call up.
He's a 23 year old 2002 2nd draft pick whose window is starting to close a bit but the good news is that he continues to develop in a positive fashion. He's obviously good offensively, has good puck possession but the knack on his is that he is unwilling to go to the "dirty" areas of the ice to score. He's got 1 goal in 12 NHL games.

The question now is does he make the lineup tonight? If he does who gets scratched? My guess is that Vyborny is out along with Malhotra and Modin which opens up a spot for Lindstrom. The forward lineup should look something like this:

Nash - Peca - Zherdev
Brule - Fedorov - Glencross
Chimera - Fritsche - Lindstrom
Shelley - Beech - Boll

I'd like to see Lindstrom get some quality PP minutes tonight to see if he can add something...anything....there.
