From a poster named "GoodVybes" on HF:
A little over ten years ago my brother-in-law and I received a Christmas gift of Blue Jackets jerseys, and we were encouraged to go down and check out buying season tickets by our wives. We saw the presentation at that little office on Nationwide Blvd and walked down to the Arena for the tour. The big glass wall on the concourse was just being finished, so there was no heat yet. They brought us to the upper bowl, west end. There were no railings or seats, the lower bowl seating was not even finished yet. But there were a couple of garbage cans set up to show where the goals would be. We walked out and both said that we had to do this, we had to be a part of it.
Since then there has been so much to remember. Captains have been traded, free agents have failed to perform, a tough guy fights with his own team and later gets beatdown by his replacement, a fan tragically dies after being hit with a puck, a player plays pond hockey with local kids, hats have been thrown, a young number one pick has developed into a quiet all-star, a new coach and a new GM bring new life, a player who had been with the team since the beginning and had only done everything he had been asked to do fades away a year to soon, a heartbreaking story makes the push this season mean so much more, and the team's founder misses this success by one year.
Tonight is the night. Come out strong and win this one for those who aren't here to experience it.
What a fantastic post.
